Raspberry Spear® Crabapple

Raspberry Spear® Crabapple is a tightly columnar flowering crab that grows at a medium rate to roughly 20 feet tall and 8 feet wide. Deep pink buds open into bright magenta spring blooms that stand out against the upright form. Summer foliage stays dark purple and relatively clean, with older leaves taking on bronze tones late in the season. Purple-red fruit ripens to a deeper red and often hangs into late fall or early winter. Hardy in USDA zone 4, it fits narrow strips, entry plantings, and other tight spaces.
