Common questions
Before you visit or order
Quick answers about how Garden Gate works for homeowners, landscapers, and retail nurseries.
Are you open to homeowners?
Yes! You can shop our online store anytime — browse trees, check prices, and purchase without waiting for an appointment or event.
Garden Gate Nursery is a wholesale nursery — we primarily grow and sell trees for retail garden centers, landscapers, and cities. We are not open for walk-in retail every day.
We also serve homeowners through retail appointments (typically spring through fall) and occasional Open to the Public events, where you can pick trees straight from the farm. Check our events page for upcoming openings, or contact us to ask about appointments.
Are you wholesale only, or can I buy retail?
We are primarily a wholesale nursery serving landscapers, cities, and retail garden centers. Homeowners can still buy from us through retail appointments, Open to the Public events, and our online store.
Wholesale buyers: order trees or review available plants. Homeowners: check events, book an appointment via contact, or shop online.
Do you sell Arborvitae?
Arborvitae are not our specialty, and we do not normally grow a wide selection of them. Sometimes we have a few available — especially pyramidal varieties like Green Giant and Virginian Arborvitae.
For hedging and screening, browse our catalog or current availability to see what we have in stock.
Do you offer a warranty if a tree dies?
We stand behind our trees. Stock is guaranteed to be healthy when it leaves the nursery. Customers have 14 days after a sale to notify us of a nursery-related problem.
After 14 days, we cannot give credit for trees sold. We cannot control watering, planting, lawnmower or weed-eater damage, or other common issues once a tree leaves the farm. Trees need ongoing care after planting, and that care is the customer’s responsibility.

Do you sell flowers or small plants?
No — we are a tree nursery. We may have a small selection of shrubs available, but our focus is shade and ornamental trees that grow well in our region.
Explore varieties in our tree catalog or see what is in stock on available plants.
Where can I find prices?
The best way to estimate prices is by checking our online store. Many trees list pricing there, and you can purchase online when you are ready — checkout is often faster than buying at the nursery, with similar prices.
Wholesale customers looking for current stock and pricing can also review available plants and request a quote.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes — we offer delivery.
Wholesale customers can get long-distance delivery across the Pacific Northwest when there is room for a 50-foot trailer at the drop site. We regularly ship to destinations across Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
Local Tri-Cities homeowners and businesses can get delivery in Pasco, Kennewick, Richland, and nearby communities. Delivery is also offered for purchases during Open to the Public events or by appointment.
Learn more on our delivery page, or contact us with your location and order size.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery cost depends on where we deliver, how large the trees are, and how many trees are on the order.
Local Tri-Cities delivery is offered at a fixed low cost for most locations. Long-distance wholesale freight is quoted with your order. Share your delivery city, trailer access, and preferred window when you request a quote or read more on delivery.
Do you publish a list of available trees?
Yes. We publish availability on our website regularly — often monthly. You can download current availability there.
You can also browse varieties year-round in our catalog and check pricing in the online store.
Are your trees suitable for the Tri-Cities?
Yes. We grow trees that do well in our area, so stock from Garden Gate is a strong fit for the Tri-Cities and similar Pacific Northwest climates. Some varieties prefer full sun and others more shade, but none should die from a typical winter freeze when fertilized appropriately (avoid fertilizing in late summer or fall).
Each plant page in our catalog and online store includes hardiness and growing information so you can match a tree to your site.
Can you help me pick a tree for a specific spot?
We try to be helpful at events and appointments, but we can get busy. Your best starting point is our tree catalog — filter by size, family, and features to find a tree with the right height, color, and habit for your spot.
For wholesale projects, request a quote and tell us about the site conditions.
Where do you grow, and where are you located?
Garden Gate Nursery grows container trees in Pasco, Washington, with a second growing location in Boring, Oregon. From those farms we supply landscapers, cities, and retail nurseries across the Pacific Northwest.
