Populus tremuloides 'JFS-Column'
Mountain Sentinel Aspen is a quaking aspen cultivar selected for a strongly columnar, upright habit. Fast growth builds a tree about 35 feet tall but only about 8 feet wide in USDA Zone 3. Silver-gray bark remains visible along the narrow trunk and branches year-round. The slim profile suits screens, entries, and other vertical accents where a standard aspen would be too broad. Leaves turn golden yellow in fall.
