Javelin® Pear
Pyrus 'NCPX1' PP 26539
Javelin® Pear is a strongly columnar flowering pear that grows fast to about 35 feet tall while staying near 10 feet wide. Spring brings white blossoms on the upright framework. New leaves emerge purple, then settle to glossy dark green through summer heat. Fall color turns orange-red before leaf drop. Selected at North Carolina State University with fireblight resistance in mind, it suits narrow streets, tight lots, and vertical accents. Hardy in USDA zone 5.
